Soy Boy
So I'm going to switch away from meat. The main reasons are that I got back my pace of aging at 0.63 and while that's good (top 30 in the world), I think I can do better by limiting isoleucine and methionine. There's almost 0 chance of being "deficient" in these amino acids, but there's lots of evidence that cutting these out will decrease risk of cancer and heart disease and immune disorder and there are cognitive benefits. The unfortunate part is that isoleucine is in tofu and pea protein, it seems like it's in every major protein source so either I get enough protein with isoleucine or I don't get enough protein. Maybe in the future there's a way around it, but for methionine pea protein and soy protein are both really low (like maybe 10x lower than in animal protein). This alone should improve my longevity but also tofu has a lot more minerals and a better fat profile too (ie it's not like meat with it's saturated fat or other issues like with antibiotics or hormones). Anyway, let's see how it goes. Also, I'm going to try to get into a probiotic. I found out that Bacillus Subtilis increased C. Elegans longevity by 50% (or 26%). That's HUGE and it's strange it's not talked about more. I'm not sure I'm going to be able to find it, or the right strain, but I'm going to try to incorporate it. Basically I'm going to be getting spores inside me, sounds really bad, but it's actually really good.
